Alternatives to Traditional Assessment

This workshop will explore innovative assessment methods that go beyond traditional exams and quizzes. Participants will learn about alternative approaches such as project-based assessments, peer and self-assessments, and portfolios. These methods aim to engage students more deeply, promoting critical thinking and creativity. Faculty will leave with practical strategies to enhance their assessment practices and better align them with modern educational goals.

- Recognize different alternatives to traditional assessments.
- Understand the benefits and challenges of these methods.
- Learn how to design and integrate alternative assessments.
- Align assessments with learning outcomes
- Develop a plan to apply at least one alternative assessment.
